In Central Square Theater’s production of Terry Johnson’s Hysteria, the year is 1938, and a lifetime’s worth of cigars just being cigars has given Sigmund Freud one hell of a toothache. The kind that begins with “m” and ends in “outh cancer.” Siggy would be contented to just curl up on the couch and analyze away his last hours, but with a knock on the door comes unwanted guests: a conservative colleague looking to put the kibosh on his latest work, a naked young nubile in search of some rather unorthodox therapy, and … Salvador Dali.
