French human/fawn-hybrid Yann Tiersen has had it up to ici with having his multi-instrumentalist minimalism associated with lilting naivete and warm summer morns. Yes, yes, he did score the mischievous whimsy of the titular spoon-wielding gamine in Amelie, but that doesn’t mean he’s any stranger to le nuit. Tonight at The Royale, the gloves, how do you say, are off, as Tiersen takes us through the decidedly darker material of his latest, Dust Lane, alongside venerable DIY-vocalist Shannon Wright.
