If someone told me last July that at this time next year I would be drinking a Peanut Butter Rauchbier, a hoppy India Pale Lager, a Lager Biere de Garde with Brettanomyces added, or one of seven other locally brewed lagers, I would have smiled, nodded, and kept drinking my beer.
But Jack’s Abby, a lager-focused, family-run brewery based out of Framingham, will be offering all that and more, as part of their one year anniversary celebrations. They’ve changed my perception, and I’m sure many others as well, of what a lager can be and have made some damn tasty beers along the way, and now it’s time to party.
The JA crew will be celebrating their brewery birthday this week, with an event tonight at the British Beer Company in Framingham, and one on Saturday at Meadhall. Stop by the party, see the bros in their always stylish (and authentic) lederhosen, and give ‘em a high five or two for all the work they’ve done this year.
The parties will also double as the release of two new beers: Ginger & Juice, a Ginger India Pale Lager with grapefruit, and Brett Biere de Garde, a biere de garde aged in white wine barrels with Brettanomyces wild yeast.
