Being creatures of copy, we here in the Edit Department tend to learn towards the “poetry is the language of the soul” side of the argument. Those ink-stained philistines over in Design, however, somehow got it into the negative space of their heads that “art is the language of the soul” which is clearly just wrong, dumb, and stupid. Or so we thought, until we caught a glimpse the sympathetic symbiosis of psychedelic mixed-media surrealist YUKO ADACHI and her Celebration of NOW exhibition at Concord’s Albright Art Gallery. Hate to admit it, but that shit was fluent in soul. Like, soul TA.
