NARRAGANSETT
A humorous and heartbreaking look at the creation of the modern state of Israel by Elia Suleiman, a director who grew up there as a Palestinian citizen. It’s both an absurd story and a recollection of the director’s life, pieced together through his father’s diaries and letters his mother sent to family members who fled the Israeli occupation. Suleiman takes a very difficult and tense situation and shows how he dealt with unending conflict by embracing the insanity of it all.
