rome burns, nero shreds
The second entry in Penelope Spheeris‘ documentary series about life in Los Angeles, this film takes aim at the excess and decadence of glam-metal. Which is to say it takes aim at a massive metaphorical target. ‘Cause seriously, these guys we’re all about excess and decadence. That word-pairing was probably the title of at least seven metal albums. Although it’d be spelled “X-Cess and Deka-dance” or something. Point is, lots of overdoes and STDs. Those were the tools of the trade until grunge finally came along and cleaned everything up. Thanks Kurt!
