Coming to the Brattle as part of the Balagan Presents series, The Castle (Il Castello) takes a look at Milan’s Malpensa Airport post-9/11, taking a peek “behind the curtain” of international security during those troubled times. The film captures both the sense of worry following September 11 and the more pressing issue that much of international security was actually based on curtains officials assumed no one would look behind. They could have put up a sign reading “please,” but that would only egg some people on.
