GEORGE HARRISON: LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD @ COOLIDGE CORNER THEATRE

CL_GeorgeHarrison

Topic sentence: George Harrison is the best Beatle.

Deeper than McCartney, more grounded than Lennon and less Ringo-ish than Ringo, Harrison more or less disappeared after Let It Be, letting the Plastic Ono Band, Wings (woof) and Ringo’s Who Gives A Shit Band do their respective things.

Then he kicked all their asses in the “Self-Indulgent Side-Project” department by forming The Traveling [Fuckin'] Wilburys—an ‘80s SUPERGROUP.

Honor the “quiet Beatle” with this one-night screening of Martin Scorsese’s George Harrison: Living in the Material World at the Coolidge Corner Theatre.

One Response to GEORGE HARRISON: LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD @ COOLIDGE CORNER THEATRE

  1. Really dumb and misguided article.

Harrison wrote maaaaybe five OUTSTANDING songs TOTAL in his post-Beatles career and they are all on one album.

Why don’t you check out some of Wings’ full-albums instead of judging by Paul’s poor choice in singles YA DUMBUS.

“Band On the Run” and “Ram” are extremely solid records.
Can you at least describe WHY you dislike Paul’s solo efforts instead of eloquently saying, “Wings (woof)?”

Don’t say “Wonderful Christmastime” – we all know it sucks but at least it’s catchy and is probably the last modern Christmas song to be a classic (like it or not).
