90′s alt-rockers Morphine were a pile of contradictions. A bluesy group out of Cambridge that relied on twin basses, had a successful independent album (bolstered by intense touring) in the pre-Bandcamp era, and whose lead singer—Mark Sandman—was felled, not by a drug-overdose, but an on-stage heart-attack. This documentary delves into the life of the famed front-man, demons and all, leaving audiences with a clear impression of the man’s genius. That, and a clear impression of how much death, like, sucks. Man, does death really suck.
