On the one hand, it’s difficult to explain the allure of this classic feature-length take on Paul Reuben’s O.G. man-child. It’s the kind of brilliant insanity that’s less “seen” or “discovered” as it is “inflicted upon, graciously.” This showing tonight sports some potential pre-screening goofery: a dance competition, prosthetic over-sized ears and the iconic red bow ties. Oh yeah, bow ties. Tell you what, go for the bow ties, and stay for the best movie you never knew you wanted to see. That’s all the allure we can muster.
