CRITTERS 2 @ COOLIDGE CORNER THEATER

Beside Gremlins, Troll, and Child’s Play in the “Cute Things That Aren’t Really Cute (and Want to Kill You)” horror sub-genre stands Critters. It has all the necessities: a small villain/villain-swarm; esoteric rules for eating, killing and/or reproducing and hapless suburbanites in the line of fire.

Critters and Critters 2 (at the Coolidge Corner Theater for two nights) add to that classic(?) formula with Western-styled alien bounty hunters and playboy pinups with rayguns.

“Don’t feed after midnight?” How about “don’t feed ever?” ‘Cause, uh, they eat people. Kinda a given, really.
