hail to the thief. get it
As far as topical screenings of satirical classics go, it doesn’t get much timelier than this presidential take-down based on the Gore Vidal play of the same name (and originally released during the ’64 campaign). In it, the idealistic William Russell (Henry Fonda) and the go-getting young Joe Cantwell (Cliff Robertson) face off to see who’s the most potent potential POTUS. And, hey, playwright Christopher Shinn and director Michael Wilson will be discussing how the film influenced their own upcoming prez-play, Now or Later. Timeliness for everyone! (Honest politics for none.)
