10 CONTEMPTIBLE CORONAVIRUS HEADLINES FROM THE CONSERVATIVE PRESS

Written by DIG STAFF Posted March 25, 2020 Filed Under: Media Farm, News to Us

conservative coronavirus media

This may be why your right-wing friends and family members sound even dumber than usual these past few weeks.

Dig editors and writers have had our eyes and ears open wide for the past two weeks, processing input from readers as well as a number of new sources we have come in contact with—remotely, of course—while covering coronavirus. We have also surveyed the news landscape around Greater Boston, and even published two roundups of local stories by alternative outlets in other cities and states.

At the same time, some of us have noticed that the Trump supporters in our lives and on our timelines are sounding increasingly absurd. So we checked up on some of the places where they get their information from, and holy cow. From Breitbart to InfoWars, we found a whole lot about how: large companies and gun makers are completely awesome for lending their facilities to make protective equipment and sanitizer; millionaires are sadly getting poorer by the day; and concerns about COVID-19 are way overblown.

Needless to say, there’s also lots and lots about the “Chinese virus,” along with other permutations of the President’s bigoted framing of the crisis. Below are a few of the most putrid takes on some of the most popular conservative sites. Skim these, laugh at the authors, beware of right-wing media, and perhaps warn your idiot parents and cousins about them—but whatever you do, avoid sharing these and all other misinformation at this time.

Breitbart

Get America Moving Again: Why Trump Is Right to Re-Open the Economy

While it is important that the President continue receiving advice from medical experts, as he has been with Dr. Anthony Fauci and others, his recent comments make it clear that he is also smartly taking into account the human impact of the economic decisions he is facing.

Coronavirus Panic is a Trojan Horse for Socialism

We’re in week two of “sheltering in place” or “self-quarantining” whatever buzz phrase you like best. Finally we’re blinking our eyes with dawning realization that maybe this pandemic isn’t as sickly serious as was once hyped by the same media which pees itself in anticipation for hurricane season. That’s because, in my opinion, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats got greedy, thus exposing their hand. Instead of providing relief to Americans who’ve stayed at home all because their state and local governments told them to, Pelosi and her band of ugly men stuffed a relief bill with socialism fan fiction.

The Chinese Bat Soup Virus Does Not Affect Democrats’ Ability To Lie

As powerful as the Chinese coronavirus is, it is not so all-powerful that it can gag the liberals’ lie holes. They won’t shut their fool mouths, and what they won’t shut up about is all unmitigated balderdash.

Western Journal

Gov’t Interference Not Needed: Anheuser-Busch Voluntarily Converts Breweries To Make Hand Sanitizer

From its verified account on Twitter, the biggest beer maker in the world pledged Sunday that its breweries would be manufacturing more than 1 million bottles of sanitizer “to donate to some of the areas most impacted by COVID-19.” “We have always been committed to being a part of the solution in our communities,” the company said.

US Millionaire Ranks Shrink by 500,000 in Record Time

The tandem financial and health crises wrought by Covid-19 have disproportionately eroded the fortunes of the wealthy, who are more likely to own equities than the overall population. At the end of 2019, the top 1% of households owned 53.5% of equities and mutual fund shares, according to Federal Reserve statistics.

Coronavirus is being weaponized by Soros, others behind anti-Trump ads

The Chinese coronavirus is being weaponized by opponents of President Trump who will spend millions of dollars to oppose the president in several Midwest states.

The Daily Signal

The Truth About the Charge That Trump ‘Eliminated’ White House Pandemic Office Before Coronavirus

“We consolidated three directorates into one,” Tim Morrison, former senior director for counterproliferation and biodefense on the NSC, told The Daily Signal in a phone interview. “This eliminated layers in the reporting chain and in the accountability chain.”

Remington Offers NY Factory To State To Produce Medical Supplies

According to Piseck, Remington isn’t planning on retooling their factory to make masks, beds, or ventilators themselves, but rather is offering up use of the facility for the “production or distribution of goods.”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw Uses Texas BBQ Joint To School Selfish Democrats Lawmakers

Dan Crenshaw is a no-nonsense U.S. Representative for Texas, and he doesn’t usually get into the muck of the politics within congress. He tells it like it is and doesn’t stoop to hyperbole. So, if Dan Crenshaw is standing up and telling American’s to wake up to what the Democrats are doing, then it is time for us all to listen. Crenshaw’s district is in Houston, Tx. Texas is known for its BBQ.

Nobel laureate with proven track record expects US slowdown of COVID-19 sooner than predicted, urges calm heads

Stanford biophysicist Michael Levitt lent some weight to the positive forecast being touted by President Donald Trump who has been promising America would be back to business soon. Levitt, who won the 2013 Nobel Prize in chemistry, believes the data does not support the catastrophic predictions of months – and even years – of upheaval as well as millions of deaths.
