Streight Angular are ready to do some emotional spring cleaning. Their new single “Machines” off Messenger of Love tackles the heated drama of on-again, off-again relationships without getting weighted down. As such, the airy track skips ahead with a chin to the sky and a lipgloss-lined smile, taking a robust drum beat adorned with flittery, glittering keys and using it to pump up your mood with some cheerleader pom-pom style punches. Backed up by a brand new music video, the single takes full form.
The two spend their time falling for each other in a warped bizzaro world of blurred 3D-vision until things fall apart. Then the effects run rampant. Flowers explode, scarves fly, and a single burger is thrown in the air (naturally). Love at first sight has never been so visually sporadic. Directed by Those Film Guys, the video was shot in less than three hours. We didn’t even know that was possible, and, looking at the clip, you wouldn’t be able to guess. Then again, it’s the editing process here that definitely took the most work.
