So, the 113-year old time capsule inside the lion statue at City Hall was opened today, and we also just happened to find the password to our DigBoston SoundCloud account. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
No matter — after carefully brushing off the dust and cobwebs, we’ve got our Cloud back, and we’re not going to be putting it into any gold animal statue heads anytime soon. No, this time we are going to do it right. “We can, and we will, do better” *Roger Goodell voice*.
The first thing we did? Simple, yet awesome (we think). Every week, we’ll be posting a new Weekly Mix, featuring tracks from the artists profiled and/or reviewed in that week’s print edition, plus a selection of the best new tracks from your (and our) favorite local artists.
This week features the tunes from artists profiled in this week’s Music section — rising rockers Vundabar and Anglo-Portuguese folk stylings of Só Sol — plus the final two tracks from Young Adults before their final show on October 12. By then you’ll be ready for a new track from Michael Christmas and Hallelujah the Hills, plus a Durkin remix of Sammy Bananas’s banger “Money Time” to blast from your speakers while getting ready to see Sammy himself at Good Life on Saturday night.
Follow us on SoundCloud to get all that sweet action delivered into your streams (!) weekly, plus more to come over the next 113 years. Happy listening!
