PREMIERE: KNIFE POURS UP ANOTHER STRANGE BREW, RELEASE PARTY THURSDAY @ GOOD LIFE

Written by MARTIN CABALLERO Posted April 13, 2015 Filed Under: MUSIC, Notes from the Scene

Strange-Brew

Every DJ knows that people tend to loosen up and dance more (not better, mind you) after a couple drinks.

For the fifth edition of his Strange Brew mixes, Knife took that idea to the next level: home-brews, homie. In between assembling the 39 tracks on Strange Brew 5 using just turntables and a mixer, the veteran DJ did some additional mixing on the side, brewing a limited batch of beers (with combination bottle opener/USB memory stick pre-loaded with SB5, natch) to give out along with the release. If you can’t track one down, don’t fret: this fluid hour-long mix of pairs well with just about anything. Try for yourself, then head to Good Life this Thursday for the release party, featuring Knife spinning alongside 7L, Leah V and Bianca Oblivion.

Intoxicating, indeed.
