VIDEO: BROTHER CLEVE AND THE LEGENDARY JEFF “BEACHBUM” BERRY TALK TIKI

The sun has returned, bringing with it ever more reminders that the winter of 2014 is a thing of the past, and the time to start prepping for your summer drinking habits is upon us. Which for some people means little else than cold PBR pounders and a favorite koozie, and others means getting the home bar in order for a season filled with tiki drinks of every stripe. And for those people, you’re in for a treat.zombie

Because tonight at Empire Lounge, local DJ, cocktail historian, barkeep, and overall lord of libations around town Brother Cleve is hosting the man who broke the code on how to make all the now world-famous authentic tiki drinks that Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic popularized in the early 20th century by rediscovering their secret recipes and ushering in a new renaissance for the tiki movement—Jeff “Beachbum” Berry.

Cleve got a chance to sit down with “Beachbum” to chat tiki, make a few drinks, and gear up for the event tonight. Check out the exclusive video below, and head to Empire tonight to make your way through enough Zombie’s to potentially turn you into one tomorrow. Dangerous, those things.
