Bostonians to stand in solidarity with Charlottesville and fight the ultra right

In the wake of the violent reactionary protests in Charlottesville that caused the death of one person and the injury of several others, some right-wing extremists thought it would be clever to bring their goose-stepping act back to Boston this weekend—after a lame engagement in May. Readers interested in protesting their presence in the Hub have a choice of two major counterdemonstrations that we’re listing here in the public interest. Folks should just remember that protests aren’t flea markets, so the details below may change at a moment’s notice.

Stand for Solidarity

Sat. 8/19, 12 noon – 4pm

Mass. State House

24 Beacon St., Boston, MA

  • Rally outside the State House next to Boston Common sponsored by several organizations including: Coalition to Organize and Mobilize Boston Against Trump, ANSWER Coalition Boston, and Boston Democratic Socialists of America.

Fight Supremacy! Boston Counter-Protest & Resistance Rally

Sat. 8/19, 10am – 5:30pm

Marching from the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center, 1350 Tremont Street, Boston, MA to the Boston Common

  • A march and rally coordinated by: Violence In Boston, Angie Camacho, Black Lives Matter Network, Black Lives Matter Cambridge, and Black Lives Matter Boston. Questions? Call 617-652-0151 or email [email protected] or [email protected] for more information.

Stay tuned to digboston.com and follow @DigBoston on Twitter and Facebook for updates on these and other actions and coverage from the Mass protest front.
