Saunders has a global presence as well, having been featured in exhibitions around the world, including the Renaissance Society, Chicago; Tate Liverpool, England; and the 2011 Sharjah Biennial.
A sculpture, a painting, an interpretive piece, or something else entirely—all kinds of artwork were viable to win, with creativity encouraged.
While a good chunk of the artists were from Massachusetts, most were from places all around the world, creating a sense of universal solidarity between the art and the feminist themes peppering the projects.
Suggestions to improve the creation of art in the community included more studio, recording, and living spaces for artists.
