SOLE TRAIN: CONVERSE ANNOUNCES FREE FIVE-NIGHT TAKEOVER AT THE SINCLAIR

Written by NINA CORCORAN Posted April 16, 2015 Filed Under: MUSIC, Notes from the Scene

Converse Rubber Tracks Live Boston

Hold on to your shoes, because in two weeks, Boston is about to get the musical takeover of the year.

Converse Rubber Tracks Live Boston is putting on a free, five-day, multi-genre concert series at The Sinclair with a slew of artists way, way, way too big to play The Sinclair for free.

Starting Monday, April 27, The Replacements, Passion Pit, Slayer, Chance the Rapper, and Descendents (you know, bands that headline festivals) will be performing with equally impressive openers alongside. Even better, a bunch of top-notch Boston bands will be opening: The Young Leaves, Radclyffe Hall, Rozamov, Michael Christmas, and Bent Shapes.

Because those names are so huge, let’s re-state that this is 100% free.

The entire event is in honor of Converse Inc. opening their global world headquarters in Boston’s Lovejoy Wharf. “In anticipation of Converse’s momentous move from North Andover to Boston, we wanted to bring our Converse Rubber Tracks music platform to the city in the most incredible way possible,” said Jed Lewis, Converse Global Music Marketing Director. “The city of Boston has always supported us and this free, five-day concert series featuring local artists is our way of showing our gratitude and appreciation to the residents who continue to embrace Converse as part of the community.”

In order to attend, you can register for a chance to see one of the five shows starting Monday, April 20 at 12 PM EST on a special Converse ticketing page via Converse-Music.com. The page is geared entirely to special events like these, so a countdown clock will appear when ticket registration opens, a newsletter sign-up for ticket sale reminders is available, and social sharing options are everywhere. Do note that tickets will be distributed through a random lottery drawing (with chosen ticket holders being notified via email starting Wednesday, April 22) so there’s none of that wait-in-line-for-eight-hours exhaustion. Finally.

Check out the full lineup below as well as the official poster for the series. Get psyched. Music like this is good for the sole. (Sorry.)
