So remember when Mean Creek played Beast of the Northeast back in October 2010 and Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows fell in love with them during their set and they became buddies? This spring, they embarked on a tour in support of one of the most hit-heavy bands of the ’90s and bounded homeward last night for a sold-out show at the House of Blues. I’m still bummed that I didn’t hear “Mr. Jones” (as was my mom, who’s practically worn out her copy of August and Everything After), but it was a lovely evening on the ears all the same.
