It can be tough to wake up on a Saturday.
However, it was nice to receive word from Lone Star Taco Bar and Deep Ellum owner Max Toste that after a long simmer period, with ample previews and interviews and whispers of all the greatness that could be found in the original Allston outpost, that Lone Star Taco Bar’s East Cambridge opening (in the former Lizzy’s space) is finally happening.
There’s some invite-only soft-opening parties to be had, but as of Saturday July 5, fans of all the Mexican cantina-ness of the original will finally be able to land the same in Cambridge. Also: expanded beer offerings (there will be 16 drafts), wine (think: Rosé, and even sherry on draft), not to mention some killer Sonoran-style fried hot dogs with refried beans and pico de gallo.
July 4th hangover: You’ve been warned.
