At last, Abadabad is abackaback. Say hello to “10 Fingers,” a song that begins with a quick yet killer drum fill spanning a whole half of a second before we’re whisked right into yet another beautiful soundscape crafted by the group. It’s the first Abadabad song to grace our ears in nearly five years. Yet even though five years have passed, Abadabad has answered all those angry voicemails I left wondering where they were. Thanks, fellas.

 

They last left us with The Wild in 2012 which was an excellent, emotionally charged EP of lo-fi pop rock. Now, “10 Fingers” leaves the lo-fi and enters the stage of beautiful songs that make you feel like you’re in space. Abadabad has kept their romantically honest lyrics, but now it approaches some serious psychedelic jazzy-pop territory, which is a wonderful and refreshing direction to take after nearly wearing my headphones out cranking The Wild for five years straight.

 

The new sound is palpable. You can taste it. It tastes good. And “10 Fingers” is just the beginning of this comeback. Abadabad will be back with a debut LP entitled Touch The Feel, so keep your eyes peeled while jamming along.
